Solitude in Solidarity
Every flower has a memory, a story, or is a reminder for me. I am always inspired by the beauty, elegance and tranquillity of flowers, nature and light, and I find watercolour the most tender medium to capture a hint of such beauty. When painting with watercolour, I must surrender and be at the present moment, to let the colours run through water and trust that they will manifest how I feel at that moment.
I painted this painting, at the beginning of 2020. Bush fires, the shadow war in my homeland, Pandemic… I painted it in an empty background, natives, naked and alone… We all felt left alone, yet, the pain brought us together.

My artworks are signed at the front and are sold unframed. Framing is a personal choice and most people prefer to choose their own frame, based on their interior design. When framing a watercolour painting, please ensure to use a Paspartu (a cardboard frame) to prevent the glass and the image from touching, and also to increase the visual appeal of the painting. Using a Paspartu will increase the framing size, though.
